Turkey Picatta with Mushrooms &Shallots




The lowfat turkey burger that tops its competition. Enjoy in good health!

Diestel product: Diestel Ground Turkey or Heidi's Hens® Ground Turkey (Heidi's Hens® available as all white meat or all dark meat)

Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs. Diestel Ground Turkey
4 oz. cheese, julienned
1/4 cup waxed peppers*; seeded and julienned
*Use more or less, depending on your taste. For tame appetites, omit and enjoy a wonderful cheese burger

Directions:
Distribute ground turkey into four even portions. Split each portion in half. Shape one half into a patty the shape of the bun or French roll being used.
Layer the cheese and waxed pepper strips evenly on the top, leaving 1/4 inch around edges. Top with the remaining ground turkey and pat out to seal the edges. Barbecue or grill on both sides until no pink remains in the center. Serve on buns with your favorite condiments. Cheese suggestions: cheddar or jack.

Serves 4.


A tasty touch of Italy with tomatoes, basil and cheese.

Diestel product: Diestel Ground Turkey or Heidi's Hens® Ground Turkey (Heidi's Hens® available as all white meat or all dark meat)

Ingredients:
1 lb. Diestel Ground Turkey*
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1/3 cup basil, minced
1/3 cup sundried tomatoes packed in oil, drained and chopped
2 oz. Asiago cheese grated (about 1/2 cup)
2 Tbsp tomato paste
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg white, lightly beaten
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together, except turkey, until well-blended. Mix in turkey and blend well. Form four patties. Barbecue or grill on both sides until no pink remains in the center. Serve on buns with your favorite condiments.

Serves 4.


South-of-the-border appeal with jalapeño, cilantro and salsa.

Diestel product: Diestel Ground Turkey or Heidi's Hens® Ground Turkey (Heidi's Hens® available as all white meat or all dark meat)

Ingredients:
1 lb. Diestel Ground Turkey*
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
1/3 cup cilantro, chopped
1/4 cup salsa, canned
2 Tbsp tomato paste
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp jalapeño, finely minced (approx. 1/2 jalapeño)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together, except turkey, until well-blended. Mix in turkey and blend well. Form four patties. Barbecue or grill on both sides until no pink remains in the center. Serve on buns with your favorite condiments.

Serves 4.

Ingredients:
Diestel Turkey Burgers or Heidi's Hens® Turkey Burgers
cheese, chili, onions, etc. for topping as desired

Directions:
Remove burger patties from package. Barbecue or grill on both sides until no pink remains in the center. Add your choice of toppings during appropriate stage of barbecuing or grilling. Serve on buns with your favorite condiments.

One patty equals one serving.
