2011 SF Chronicle..."Tastes like a turkey should."
Once again, Diestel Turkey was voted as one of the best-tasting turkeys by the San Francisco Chronicle! The panelists chose two Diestel Turkeys--the Heidi's Hens Organic and the Original Diestel Turkey--as clear favorites for a free-range turkey.
The panelists raved how Diestel's range-grown turkeys had "clear turkey flavor and a firmer texture." Of the five turkeys tested, a Diestel turkey was given the distinction as the bird that "tastes like a turkey should."

September 2003, we did it again! The San Francisco Chronicle conducted another taste test, this time for sliced deli meats. We were awarded recognition as the Best Tasting Deli Turkey. According to one taster, "Diestel rises above the flock of sliced turkey meat! Hey, this looks and tastes like turkey!! Best of the bunch," the taster remarked after trying our thinly sliced white meat.

2002: KRON4, Turkey Test Winner
November 2002, KRON4, the San Francisco Bay Area news station, conducted a holiday turkey test. Once again Diestel turkey came in above the rest. Marion Cunningham, author of the Fannie Farmer Cookbook, noted, "I think I like it the best. It tastes wholesome. There's a purity about the flavors in that."

 1999: The San Francisco Chronicle, Voted Best Tasting Turkey
November 1999, the San Francisco Chronicle ran a Thanksgiving editorial featuring the results of their holiday turkey test. Diestel turkey received 90 of a possible 100 points, outscoring its highest competitor by 15 points. All five panelists ranked Diestel as the best turkey and commented on its exceptional flavor. One described it as, "Everything a turkey should be."
